Powerboat P1 - News

Suprised that no-one has yet picked up on the fact that Jim O'Toole has left Powerboat P1, & that Asif has taken over as CEO.
Changes in the 2009 P1 rules etc, among others, mean that P1 race distances are reduced to 40 & 70 mile races for Sprint & Endurance respectively.
Methinks that 70 miles is shorter than a Class 3/c race, & that is not classed as Endurance !
What say you all ?
There is clearly a difference between interpretations of the word Endurance, when applied to offshore powerboat races.
Is there (another !) looming energy crisis that we have yet to hear of ?
