First race boat the old boy every bought is on page4 its above the engine of Reffer LH side, was called "Flying Sorcerer" forunner to the production version which followed a few years later.
Most successful of those was the Boats Bartonia X and Bartonia XX

Ah great stuff, this pic of Paul Sinclair in this report takes me back as I lived next house over and as a young lad his portrayal of Magnum PI with his flash cars (MK 3 yellow Cortina with big alloy wheels) and Phantom boats was amazing and he even supported a tash with bushy hair ... he was Magnum

A few miles since then - but not many in rougher waters!

Was 16 at the time and force whatever in an 18' Stapley cat was a bit of a shock. Was all going fairly well after the start and for the following sea leg - then turned into the head sea and it was massive. Long way across the bay
