Boats vs. RIBs
If I look at how many (hard)boats and RIBs entered RB08 and compare them with the current result table - the (hard)boats are doing a lot better than the RIBs !

Because they're blisteringly fast when everything is going well.
Time differences per leg (incluing penalties) for Wettpunkt vs Venturer:
+04:13:40
-00:51:57
-00:05:08
+00:47:43
They are at best a Silver Class Finisher (rules 2.2, 2.3, 2.4) though because they dropped a leg. With things as they are, even if they eventually overtake Venturer they won't win.

Interestingly there is a RIB lying overall first and another overall 3rd! Also RIBs are 4th 5th and 6th overall

We gained 39 minutes on the Milford to Oban leg because we found John Puddefoot floating around the Irish Sea. Due to our surface drives we would have flooded his boat if we tried to tow him
We knew Gee was following us on the same line and waited until he came over before setting off again.
Also at Inverness we were supposed to travel at 8knts until the start boat came up on the plane. Wettpunt kept stopping and then blasting up once we were a few miles ahead, stopping and blasting. Talking to a guy on the start boat the dolphin watch person was going mental at him and wanted him DQ'd. Also at the end Wetpunt is "alleged" to have gone the wrong round a buoy.
We came in 2nd and averaged 66knts over 200nm's. I can assure you that is one exciting ride. Last thing I heard was we were promoted to 1st but that may change
Cheers
Mark

Edinburgh to Newcastle
It was only a short leg of 115 miles today, but tomorrow and Monday are much longer. Blue FPT are looking good, but with a lead of only one hour there's plenty of scope for them to fall off the top spot.
The next five places are only separated by a total of 12 minutes!
Top thirty overall:
1 333 Blue FPT Buzzi 00:00:00
2 2 Hot Lemon Scorpion RIB 01:05:05

RB4 winner looks fairly decided, but the fight for 2nd is pretty tight.
