This is all looking very promising.

Hopefully the costs can be kept close to that of RB08, but we are going to be 3 years down the road from there, so it's going to be tough.

I have faith that Dean will do all that can be done to achieve a great value event, but we must remember that the likelyhood of a large sponsor is low, so we'll have to wait and see.

I'm sure Mike Lloyd would be the first to echo these words.

Well Jon, at least you removed BASTARDS from the thread

Remember to bring a long a few extra sets of harmonic balancers And you should consider adding some pontoons to keep you dry - wouldn't want to show up in that wetsuit, again, would you?

On a more serious note - fantastic initiative from Going Lean & co!

Yes, wasn't sure the English humour would work with our foreign friends.

As for the wetsuit comment.....I might wear it just for you.

The tube comment is beyond forgiveness though, and you'll be punished for it at some point.

Forgot to translate the ad for the Goldfish; will be delivered with two new IMCO drives, Polyflex racing engine brackets and complete service of engines. This eliminates the drive issues from RB08 and then we are talking about hours ahead instead of minutes ahead

Can't go much wrong with either boat, honestly...

RB11 are pleased to announce a kick off meeting to be held at Drivers Dry Berthing in Southampton. On the same day Drivers have a boat jumble starting at 9.00am along with Hot dogs, tea and coffee. It will be a great day out and we may be able to pick up a bargain as well!

The RB11 meeting starts at 11.00am and is expected to run for about 90 minutes. The meeting will explain the format & cost of RB11 followed by a discussion between us all to finalise the direction of the race going forward.

The Document will be on the RB11 website shortly

Well, well.. As we old motocross guys say: " When the gate drops-the bullshit stops" It will be interesting to see what speed is needed
next time. Everyone seems to upgrade and build new boats...

A bit of rough water is usually a good leveller.

I still maintain that top speed aint everything, and that we had, all in all, a pretty kind weather window last time round.

At the moment the plan is to use the RB08 route/venues as long as we can get approval.... so yes we are planning to use Gunwharf & Southsea start.

9m Rib with a 300... nice... are we putting you on the start list.... and booking you a seat for the 5th Dec ??

Or as old norwegian rally drivers say; "It is not the fart that will kill you - it is the smell." (from the mouth of P Solberg - fart is speed and smell is crash in norwegian)

As Vilda is for sale - what are you planning on entering?

Gap 52

I Was unaware of the RYA meeting, I plan to still go ahead with the 5th December but I will make it about the racers & their entries and will look to hold a separate meeting for officials.

Can anybody post me the info on where & what time the RYA mtg is. We may be able to present the race format to the RYA officials whilst they are all together. This would be great for the RB11 team to gather all the learning points from RB08. Annie has already sent me a few key points that we are integrating in to the RB11 presentation to be discussed on the 5th.

If this is not possible ideally I would like to meet RYA officials before the 5th of December.

Regards

Dean
