Such a shame that more of you didn’t turn up, only Myself, Dean, Shirley and Larby (Who flew in from Guernsey) bothered - SHAME ON YOU OTHERS and folk wonder why the sport is in a bad state!

A few apologies received amounting to about 3..... the rest well......... In the words of our "Leader" "when all is said and done a lot more is said than done"
Bullshit !! Might be worth checking your facts first !! When this was first suggested I made it quite clear that i would be unable to attend as i would be in Abu Dhabi. Orda Chairman Brian had suggested that the meeting should wait untill more of us could attend and at a more suitable venue.

Glad you could attend and have managed to sort yourselves a suitable calendar.
At least one event already clashes.

THIS is what came from the RYA which i wrongly assumed had come from the meeting as we have heard nothing else.

Good luck

Bob

Verbatim:
1) Was the date put forward at the meeting by Shirley on your clubs behalf
2) Don’t you know Bob?
3) MORE THAN 4

Anyway Bob, onwards and upwards let’s stop arguing (In public) and get racing?

3) No thank God, have you? Shirley was at her wits end but hey who cares? Not many (4)

Getting away from the ongoing verbal dichotomy lets move forward without all of this C**p and put n a fantastic race series as this it's not doing the "Sport" much good airing our grievousness in public now is it?

Bob,
Taking on board it was you who proffered the apologies then they were misunderstood by those in attendance.

You are correct Double 2 Shirts has not raced for decades but perhaps she will next year.. who knows..but D2S is not the only boat I race in... Do I count myself as a real racer? No not really as it’s only been 3 years that I have raced and I cannot compete with the wealth of experience of some on here, but do I count myself as someone who enjoys participating in races - yes I do. Do I count myself as someone who is prepared to put himself out to try (In some small way) to improve the sport - yes I do,

I was and still am desperately disappointed at the lack of Clubs who turned up for the meeting save only those who had informed Shirley of their non attendance.

There as so many folk who complain about the lack of races etc on this and other web sites that when someone (not me) grasps the nettle and try's to get something organised so few turn up. I don’t have the Invitation list but could get it from Shirley - might be some Interesting names invited who didn’t bother..

Anyway If "I started it" then I'll end it, I ment no offence to you Bob and if you took offence then I apologise.

Martin

Please guys.... couldn't we all start "pulling in the same direction"? ...For the good of the sport?!

We're all basically on the same side here... let's just provide a united front...

Sorry if that's a bit simplistic, but you know what I mean.

Couldn't agree more

Otherwise at this rate I can't see there being any racing in 2011

As this thread was originally about RB2011 entries, & as that race has now been cancelled & CMC2013 substituted, surely this thread ought to be signed-off now ???
