Whatever it was or is, it doesn't matter, just offer up an exclusive CTC membership without the frills so that followers can offer support.

Say 50 or 100 quid with free copy of the dvd / pics / stickers etc. Anything to raise cash if it's needed and also show the level of support possible to potential sponsors.

Further info on the CTC.

Because of the number of enquiries from guys with BIG boats we propose that there is to be a Superboat Class with unlimited cc as long as they conform to all safety regulations as per UIM/RYA P1 handbook. This is now beginning to get interesting!

Sh*t is the race going on now without the P1....?

After I received this morning a press release from P1 that confirmd the race is cancelled as a result of insufficient entries, I cancelled my guesthouse @ Cowes.
It was very hard to find a place to stay during that weekend!!
Cowes is full booked.

Please let me know if there is anything going on now....

Pepe, I think it's safe to say there will be some serious racing over the August bank holiday weekend in Cowes IOW, ...re book that guest house, pronto!!

The Cowes event is much more than just a racing date on a calender. It simply can't be allowed to fade away, so we'll be doing all we can to ensure it continues for another 47 years.

That would be great!!

Was looking forward to it.
Who is organising the race now, and who is responsible for the press?

The race will be run by the British Powerboat Racing Club, and the event director is Mike Lloyd, who recently ran the Round Britain Powerboat Race.

Press, not sure, I expect Mike will pipe up and tell you.

Thanks Adrian, and all those who'll be helping with safety.

I'm sticking my neck out here, but feel sure we must be able to accomodate all those who give their time, effort, fuel etc to help with safety at the prize giving in Cowes. Should be a good evening.

Not sure what the basic rules will allow, as they seem to be in limbo right now. If it's considered ok, and the general thought is that the boats can go the distance (ie, carry the fuel) maybe cowes, to peveril, and back to Cowes via the south side of the island?? a similar course to that done for class III a few years back.

What ya reckon?

Round the Island sounds great, although I do remember when I was event director that QHM Portsmouth were not keen on powerboats crossing their water.

It may well be too far, I guess I just assume other people like the longer races too, but I'm probably wrong.

give me five, I'll do a quick comparison on distances.

OK, the run from cowes, to peveril and back to cowes is about 58 statute miles.

Coming back via st cats, bembridge and the forts will make it about 90 statute miles, which is I guess too far. So that answers it.
