Results from Gallipoli

Saturday:

1st - Ocean Dragon
2nd - Jolly Special
3rd - Chaudron

Great result for Ocean Dragon

Sunday:

1st - Chaudron
2nd - Carpenter
3rd - ForeOne

We had engine problems all weekend sadly

Due to our lack of speed, the boat was not very happy ...

Yep, we keep it there when its not travelling around Europe or being repaired. Gill and Gareth do a great job helping us out and looking after us.

Thanks Jon

First day was overheating problems. Was caused by a slight blockage on one of the banks on one of the engines which reduced the water flow .. .therefore overheating problems ...
Steve got that fixed ... it was 50 degrees in our cockpit ... so not a fun job (literally )

Second day, engine management system just shut one of the engines down (the other one!!) ... not sure what caused that yet.

Just out of interest, do you 'lock' the engine hatch whilst at a venue if you're not near the boat?

Reckon I'd have a check routine each time the boat was about to be launched as well.

If my post isn't clear, feel free to PM me.

The engine hatch is fully padlocked and we are also getting a lockable fuel cap. At the moment we put something over the cap to identify if anyone has tampered with it.

Its a shame that we all have to go to those lengths

I now have a padlock on my engine.

There are so many little things you can do to a boat to disable it. Water down the exhausts is a good one. A bit of flotsam in the water inlets. A litre or so of water in the fuel is another option.

If you would like some advice with the fuel cap, please PM or phone me. I have experiance with the fuel specifically. CCTV works well. I have set it up to video the boat whilst I sleep.

Its a shame that we all have to go to those lengths

But it only happens if you start winning...
