We were sitting and believe it or not 2 of us had better backs at the end.
We have Kab seat bases which are basically lorry seats we how ever doubled them up for extra strength and loading

RB2012 should give Taz and me enough time to get a boat entered, but he might have recked the P28 by then so we might have to buy a new one, shame Phantom dont build boats anymore...
and there will be TV cameras here from all over the world so should be easier to get some good TV coverage.

Welcome to Boatmad Mr Bus Pass, have you recovered from your ordeal yet? I expect you're still scrubbing the soot & grime from your fingernails!
My mates B28 with the marine diesel 6.5 410hp joke engine has been offered one of the duramax 6.6's as a replacement!
Think he might pass on that one and continue his fight for a refund.

We changed from standing to sitting for the race and it was far better for us, John was sat in 96 and liked it so much he sat in his seat to Pembroke dock under the cover!!

re RB12
Interestingly - I have had three different clients (of my design business) already say that they are interested!
One of the designs is being built and the others are still hopefully going ahead. None of them out and out raceboats - but would certainly like the idea of doing a one-off race special myself!

Could perhaps stretch to two next time.
Or perhaps go for some suspension seating.

rb2012 - ideal spec boat
I would be very interested to hear everyone's opinions on what the ideal RB2012 boat would be;
RIB or conventional
stepped or non stepped hull
outboards or inboards
Sit down seating or stand up

36-40 foot rib
probably stepped as better speed in the flat
Inboard I love petrols but with the development of diesel i guess diesel
Sit down on suspension seats.
Triple engines incase of a breakdown much better to be left with 66% power than 50
Had the goldfish boats not broken down they would have won Rb8

Not if Hannes and Fabio and Drew hadn't broken down.
Having said that, I'm not dissing the Golfish's performance, far from it. They're awasome for their size, you just can't compare them ability wise to a big buzzi, especially in a big seaway.

So if your wallet would not permit a Buzzi would you venture across the pond and snap up a cigarette/formula or something similar ?

The goldfish were fast in the smooth stuff they only slowed in the ruff stuff because they knew the engines and drives would break as they did
Thats only my humble opinion
