I doubt it, definitely not a Formula anyway. Quite like the Gladiator 36.

I'd like to be in something European idealy. In fact, something British, but with European as a close second.

Sadly, we don't make much anymore here.

558 Cinzano would / will be very capable I reckon.

Jeff's 43 race rigged as per Blue FPT (triple Iveco 600's) could be an interesting contender. IMHO.

Certainly potential, though IIRC it can't carry enough fuel as currently rigged.

It's not even worth looking at the U.K. market when you see what is available for your money in the USA.

He's a nob.

Don't think he even made it to Plymouth.

Must be bad Karma.

Got motors FOC from Barrus, failed to address the 'bleedin obvious' with the Yanmar weak block / engine mount issues, handed a destroyed engine back to Barrus having achieved nothing.

He's a credit to the British boating industry.

He started the Milford - Oban leg (late, 'cos he was stuck inside the lock gates in Milford marina, after all the others had set off across the start line ) I then saw them pottering along down the haven and approaching the line slowly running on what sounded like a very unhealthy single motor. I asked the navigator, Little Lord Fauntleroy, on ribnet what happened to cause their delay in the dock, but he has declined to respond
I think I also heard them on the VHF, ask race control for yet further time before making their delayed start, as they'd neglected to plot their waypoints into the GPS
Holed block in Ireland was apparently the cause of their eventual demise

Are the classes in 2012 likely to be the same as 2008?
I don’t understand why there was a limitation on max of 2 engines installed in 2008 in all classes apart from CC1 & HC1? (MC1 was limited to 4 engines)
Would be interesting to run with 3-4 engines. More than 2 engines are now commonplace on fast leisure rib’s ect. There is even a few IPS boats with 3 and 4 engines in production now.

I don’t understand why ......
There was a lot of 'I dont understand why' - a good deal of that was people with power and influence ( and I will not mention John Puddifoot by name ) Jerrymangering classes to attemp to gain advantage before the event even began.

There were others with very old minds who wanted to restrict modern safety features ( such as canopies ) - mostly due to ignorance and misinformation.

It would be nice to gat an independant review of the classes and the rules sorted before the 2012 event gets written onto the ricepaper that the rules seemed to be printed on.

Class rules with no upper limit in the upper class, and a reasonable limit in the lowest class to allow for changes in boat design and materials that have taken place over the past 30 years.

( seem to have seen that posted before someplace... )

Then you may find you will get entries from the second best boat in the world:

Not mine - this is James's monster piece. Very very nice, and on a DPX drive as well, but still second best boat in the world...

There also were many boats and racers who ran within the classes - had a damn good time - and don't post on Boatmad - get real Marc - you missed out.
