Round Ireland Offshore Powerboat Race 2010

The Round Ireland Offshore Powerboat Race 2010 will take place from the 8th to the 15th of May.

Taking in 4 stages with a 5th day of short course racing in Donegal on day 3this race is sure to test everybody who dares take on the atlantic up the west coast of Ireland.

The interest so far has been fantastic with over 40 registrations to date.

We will be posting the race rules, classes and fees on the website in the next week or so. we hope to inlcude cat's and tri-hulls so get them out of the sheds guys.

See www.roundireland.org for all the details and to register. Limited to just 50 boats this is sure to be a great success.

Regards,

Macrib.
RI2010.

Dowdy, I met macrib today at our marina, on day 3 of his way round Ireland. So I suppose he'll have all the details posted up shortly after he gets back.

You thinking of doing it?

Anyone else from Boatmad doing it?

Alan

Registered a month ago, need to see rules before making decision on which craft,210 leg bit of a concern, need refueling stops for that, twin 2.4s at 56 gallons an hour, allow 4 hours to complete, subject to conditions, bit of a reserve,230 gallons carried ,i will struggle to get on the plane.Like i say, need to see rules first, dont want to be bogged down with all that weight, wont be much of a spectacle if every one is top heavy and driving round like a slug.MACRIB are you on the organising committee? If so could you p.m.

Any new information as there is not long to go? The following is interesting however:- http://www.pulsar-racing.com/Boats.asp. You are talking about entering the CTC Justin with this new boat. Is that definite?
