Actually the difference between C10 and C9 is about 5% in calorific value, and both can be modified by the suppliers to be 92 octane. Both are avalable in the UK from petrol stations. And the high octane Tesco fuel already exceeds C10, and when it goes onstream in January it will be higher still. So then between one pump fuel and another pump fuel you could look at 7% difference! Which is massive. ( different octanes.. )

But that does not extend to a 7% power increase, only a 7% change in jetting or injection calibration

... and I only needed 0.2 mph to break the British National record. I believe my petrol changes would definately have given me that.

Note: I am discovering that my race compeditors are following my ideas, and my oil supplier has confirmed that *two* other V24 teams have bought the same oil.

Think. This is not good. Do work to improve the speed of the boat, spending many hours trying x vs y, and then discover my advantage gone at the start line.

So I figure keep mouth shut untill I retire from racing - then give advice.

Or do as some and fit the incorrect data plates & markings / Part Numbers ect so when "viewed with intrest" it's meaningless.

This is a fav of very well known Racers / Designers
Edit: the "Old Boy" did it with props Removing the original markings & restamping with different Pitch & Dia markings
