What's the problem bigdog? We gave you parties, barbecues, and a bloody good race even though it went down to one lap (which I understand everyone was grateful for because of the conditions) so what's the beef?

Nick & I won't be at the UKOBA race. I'm in Portugal over that weekend (working) and Nick has decided not to do it. (with anyone else). So we're no shows I'm affraid.
Also, the boat will be on the Steyr Engine stand at the Southampton Boatshow for some of this month, so prep would be an issue. (and we have some prep to do to get race ready!)

That reporter needs a ride in a raceboat, specifically a 3B boat in a sloppy Solent.
Condescending old bag.

Silly Cow!
Was just thinking about ex class 3B racers out last weekend.
Tim and Eric in Cinzano, Nik Keyser in The Bandit, Ed WH in Wettpunkt.com Shelley Jory in Team Scorpion Miles Jennings in Ocean dragon and no doubt some I have missed.

As of this morning UKOBA pulled out of running the South Coast Marathon.
The BPRC has now stepped in and will run the third and final heat of the Marathon Series.
The dates will be the the same.

OMG!!
Anyway, I (rather the BPRC) would like to run the event out of Drivers but having just talked to Gill I hear that Gareth is getting married on race day and then Gill is off on holiday for a week, why I can't imagine so..... the next available date is the weekend of 16th & 17th of October. That's Friday the 16th for scrutineering and briefing & Saturday the 17th will be race day. A course of 100 odd miles will be worked out over the next couple of days and then we have to get race & courses approved by the RYA, find some money somehow, get permission from the Harbour Master and we are up and going, now, the most important thing, who will race with us in the final race of the Marathon series and who else wants to come and have some fun in what will be the last race of the year.
Gill has promised a Hog Roast after the race although I have a strange feeling that the BPRC will be paying for that!

That will be club racing at it's best!
Nice to see something happen out of Drivers, that place has quite simply become the hub of UK performance boating.
I'm currently free on the 17th though Nick would have to see to scrutineering, (as I'm busy on the 16th) so I will ask Nick if he's up for it. Here we go again....
