Surfury
Just a few months ago this site was humming about the developments that concerned the future security of SURFURY, it has all died down now but a little bird tells me that....Subject to the official hand over by the National Maritime Museum she will be safe and secure at Basildon. Now it may be a little too soon to start planning anything but for all you Classic Powerboat fans out there who are intent on keeping these classics ship shape and can spare an hour or two to restore this world famous boat to its original condition or could help to eventually get her running again in the old H2O would you please register your abilities and intent with either CHRIS GRAYER , THE CLASSIC OFFSHORE POWERBOAT OWNERS CLUB via John Iddon or contact JULIE AT BASILDON.
Secondly....It is the 40th Anniversary of her win at the Cowes Classic next year, it is hoped to have her on display at Cowes on the August Bank Holiday weekend during the P1 FESTIVAL WEEK and to possibly organise a Cowes to Torquay Rally for boats from the 60's 70' and 80's of the type that raced in that period or original racers.Out on the Saturday back on the Sunday. Would any interested parties again contact the COPOC if this trip would interest you.
KEEP CHECKING SURFURY SITE FOR FUTURE DEVELOPEMENTS.
