The BPRC Committee would like to have the items for auction on offer that evening to surprise potential bidders.

Cool... just thought it might have raised more money given a wider audience than just those attending.....

Good luck with it

This is your last chance to join us at what promises to be the event of the year for ALL those involved in powerboat racing from whatever class, the BPRC Powerboat Ball.

This is where all your friends will be on Saturday the 25th April at Johnny Caulcutts place in Belmore Park, Hampshire. See attached invite.

This Ball is not only being put on to celebrate the opening of the 2009 Marathon racing season but also for a very worthy cause very close to the hearts of all those who love powerboat racing, to raise money for The Cowes Powerboat Festival in August which looks as though it will be the biggest Cowes for many years. Any money carried over will be used for what we hope will be an even bigger event next year in 2010, the 50th anniversary of the Cowes Torquay Cowes race.

If you are one of the 200 people who have already ordered tickets then please ignore this. If not, phone Laura our club secretary now on 44 (0) 19832 90558 to secure a table. This is going to be a great evening.

See you there.
ML.

David's Diary

Did David's Diary RB08 ever make it to DVD ? It would be good to have copies
for sale at the BPRC dinner, along with RB08 and Cowes.

Yes it did, Jon Fuller converted the film to DVD for us. I will get a copy from him soonest and have some done. We will have the other films there for sale as well.

So much to do and time is running out. Just like this time last year!!

Yup, I check with the film guys every week, Channel 4 is just hanging it out saying they think it will be more appropriate when the summer comes. it's driving everyone nuts.

Unfortunately Me 'n' Vix won't be able to make it to the ball now.
So, anyone that fancies going but couldn't afford it, post here.

For those of you who either can't attend the BPRC Powerboat Ball on Saturday or just plain not interested, if you do want to see Marathon powerboat racing continue to happen then help us by bidding for whichever lot takes your fancy. All funds raised will go into the coffers for Cowes and next year.

To do that you can PM me with your email address to request a low res PDF of the many lots all generously donated by both racers (past and present) and friends of Powerboat Racing. We have some fantastic lots (I almost said awesome) up for grabs.

Based on Mikes previous posts, I assumed he wants it kept fairly schtum so it'll be a surprise on the night for attendees.

Thats what I thought - hence the reason I hadn't posted the goodies on the BPRC site.

I've just had a call from Gill Williams at Drivers Wharf.
They want to donate for the auction all cranage and storage/mooring for one boat over the week of the Cowes Torquay Cowes event. This can obviously be for a race boat, or a spectator who wants to roll up at drivers and be based there over the Cowes event. (moorings in Cowes will be virtually impossible)

So if you could add that to the list Mike please.

cheers

Jon
