so what about the new engine rules then?? how did that all go down, i see the wining rib had a h/o on it... from a non racers perspective it looks like an ok turn out with a few boats that may have never been allowed to race before??

Only 1 production boat turned up, however it's hoped that it is more of a geographical thing than anything else, and looking forward to more in other races - Ramsgate in 9 days!

Richard Strawford had an Evinrude 200HO on it - walked away from everyone - 3.3 litre and 220HP or more. XR2's at 2 litre and about 195HP or even XS200 mercs with 2.5 litre and 200 can't compete - the only hope is it's fragile!

Item 7, page 3.
Corrected power at rated speed of any individual marine propulsion engine or propulsion system must not deviate more than 10%. or 0.45kW, whichever is greater, from it's declared power, except that for governed engines or systems of more then 100kW the tolerance shall be +-5%

Hey Richard what happened to you at the weekend, you promised you were coming up to Cowes and never showed - it's not broken already is it?

Matt - Very interesting but totally misleading!

The relevant rules are in PB1 2004 untill they get round to publishing 2005!
