UKOBA South Coast Marathon

Regretfully we have been advised by Barrie Williams that SEPA will be cancelling the Ramsgate Powerboat Festival over the weekend of the 25th & 26th of September due to a predicted lack of Competitors and Thanet Council's refusal to allow the associated Music Festival.

Accordingly, UKOBA will be re-issuing it's intended route and holding a Weymouth to Weymouth Marathon Race with the competitors based at the Portland Marina on Saturday the 25th September 2010

We have already received two expressions of interest which is encouraging.

We will be issuing a New Advanced Notice and Race Instructions in Due Course.

Remember UKOBA Will Be Running this Race

That's a shame, we're racing at Allhallows that weekend you could always come up river a bit then race back to Weymouth???

Ukoba South Coast Marathon

Following the tragic event last week I have to be honest in so far as ive not been too motivated with regard to the organisation this week, however, re-energised and re-invigorated the event will move forward during next week, I didn’t realise how much was involved when I said "I'll do it" but all I need now is some more expressions of interest to make it appear to me that all the hard work will not be in vain. Remember this race WILL GO AHEAD but I do need to know how many boats/Teams will be attending so I can finalise numbers for the Marina (and pay them a cheque )

So I’m calling on all Marathon Racers all that come to my mind listed below to please give me a call, send an email or get in touch any way you want and let me know if you are interested in racing or not.

Team 25 - Scott Younger
Goinglean - Dean Gibbs
My Pleasure - Gordon Compton
Swipes - Nick Gilley & Jon Fuller
Silverline - Drew Langdon
Uno Embassy - Rob Gray
Venturer - Andy Macateer
Bounty Hunter - Glen Chidzoy
Blastoff - Dorian Griffith
Cinzano - Markus Hendricks
Fury - Vee
Relentless - Darren Hook
Carbon Footprint - Charlie Williams-Hawkes
Hot Lemon - David Deacon
Overlord - The Two OAP's Messrs. Lloyd and Ring
Bananashark - Cookie
Warlord - Messrs Chaos & Co.
Gee - Mark Clayton

My email address is mw@martinwarrenassociates.com

Thanks
Martin

There are plenty of Marathon boats but very few clubs organising Marathon races. I would have thought that if you guys want to go racing then this end of year race being organised by UKOBA would be a good one to go for as per Drivers last year. IMHO!

At least they are putting in the effort!

I would check that with "why are they" first.

I was going to invoke the 5th amendment on that answer John, but on reflection I wont!
