Where to start ... so many classes and types of racing.

Offshore
3C (200hp) - Our oldest surviving class and I guess most Internationally raced - around 12 boats. Hopefully going up again,

3B & 3D (90 and 400hp) - Not raced anymore, but a few boats are around

RIBS
F1 (Around 200HP) - dropped in numbers recently to approx 8 boats
Did race other RIB classes but these have been dropped due to lack of numbers

We are also starting a new Formula 200 - for 200 hp boats combining such craft from 3C, F1 RIBs and sportsboats with upto 200 hp engines

V24's
Again dropped in numbers to about 5 - but should go up again next year.

OFFSHORE CIRCUIT RACING (OCR)
Two classes of approx 140 and 90 hp - around 12 boats.

HONDA RACING
Two classes - 225 and 150 hp classes. Not sure how many racing, but fairly good numbers. Shame we don't have Honda racers on the forum - sure they would have some good stories)

THUNDERCATS and ZAPCATS
Not sure on numbers

We also have a number of British teams racing P1 next year and have one round of the championship here. We also have a few ProVee boats but no racing in the UK for them.

Then in addition to the above we have basic races which can see all types of sportsboats and ex. race boats turning up. Also club racing ar various venues, a Northern series etc etc

Probably forgot to mention some class or another!

So i guess the bigger offshore classes have been exterminated for a big part in your country too..

But dont you have the f-2000 serias, circuit racing whith light catamarans with cockpit and XR2`s? Or other types of non-offshore curcuit racing...

How many people attend the average race-event in UK?

Do you arrange competitions with multiple classes in the events, or with only one class-events...

In Norway we now have a divided environment, the offshore-racers, racing ca 20 V-50 boats (v-bottoms 14-18 ft with standard 50 hp), about 10 3B boats and just under 10 3C boats. On the other hand you have the circuit racers that throw their own events, which I dont know too much about, regarding the number of competitiors.....

Uk is measured in population a much larger country, so I`m wondering how big youre events are...
