Yes that was a little fortunate as 6 DQs following ECU tests. 3 of those had broken down. The pace is fearsome out here...
But Gringo is very frustrated as they keep running storm course in flat sea and avoid chop outside; which of course favours the Doug Wright brigade...
So frustrating that it is all about top end on the long flat straights of Abu Dhabi as you sit there contemplating your navel at 108 - wishing you had 114!
Never mind..Dubai Thursday and we pray for wind!

A case of IF ONLY for us. Broke the rh gearboz on the 5th lap whilst running in 9th with three breaking down ahead soon after....
We prayed for a blow but got a good swell so Gringo and I were hooting and singing in the cockpit (soon to be posted to YouTube).
Hot day and hot in the cockpit. Xcat is great fun and I am sure will grow next year. There is a great spirit between the teams and a good balance between the serious and the club concept. It is a unique place iin the world where top class drivers mix it with the dedicated enthusiasts.
Sadly the end of the season and for us - we can't even face opeining the attached above as we came to UAE with a 7th championship position and blew it yesterday - literally!

Top ten is respectable and you took some great scalps along the way - nothing to be ashamed of and you had straight ECU's!

I would think that anywhere that can put up a respectable prize fund would be considered !!

Hi Mate will catch up on skype as didn't get a chance to say goodbyes etc. Talking to Sid tomorrow so will press on additional events etc
One thing for sure is the PR was substantial this time and they are planning a bigger effort for next year - website, press and tv The series is in a good position to grow and spread so fingers crossed but it certainly is not in decline.
Yes 9th but with the points system it is amazing that Abu Racing were quite high despite 2 DNFs out of 4.
Ironically if we had finished (forgettng the loss of prize funds ) we would still have been in 9th overall.

Hi M8,
certainly not P1SS ,just the way i said it made it sound it
About Abu Dhabi 4 i ain`t to sure why that is but i think they get points for the position they we`re a lap before they broke down , Remember Nicolini on our first race when he rolled it and still beat us ,well that was because he gets the points for the postion he was on the previous lap before he rolled it , that rule needs looking @ . personally in my world that`s a DNF .
