Pity the timing - I would have liked to have done it, but not possible.

Interesting disclaimer at the end of your post...

How about English Law???

A better disclaimer which a legal friend of mine uses is:

I understand you can enter a boat for £250 does not include all the piss ups but they have a chopper and will film you.

English law is just too wierd, and does strange things in some cases. Lucky for us EU law can be called in to help.

100% of the disclaimer is to prevent the RYA from attempting something stupid. They have indicated on many occasions that they will attempt to control what racing members publish. Illegally, but attempts cost a shyte load of money. My brief costs £500 an hour. Getting an injunction against the RYA is 6 hours prep work and 4 hours court work = £5000. Then you have to go back to court after the period of the injunction has expired etc etc...

Like taking the criminal element of the UK boat trade to court, it is a loose loose situation.

Avoiding the fight is probably the only way to win the fight.

Quite an ambitious programme this year! I suppose its the make or break year for them!

Thought they might have moved on from that rather over used P1 image. Thought by now they could use one of their own photos.

Well its not long until the first one by which time my 8hp sailmate should have got me to Gunwharf so I might catch a glimpse as I chug over the channel weather permitting!

Might consider one in the Med if I get some bigger outboards fitted in time!

It is unfortunate that I can not do it this year, as it really would be a good one.

and very well organised this time! The first year there was little or no plannign of the route etc. This time a hell of a lot of work has gone into the actual rout and support for the boats on the route.

BladeRun UK Date Change...

Looking at the weather report for this weekend , and talking to entrants, our marine support team and many others, we have decided that BladeRun needs a break from the weather! After the last two years have been against us, its my dream to have a great UK rally, with great weather. Consequently, we have decided to move BladeRun UK to the back end of May, the schedule is as follows:

Thursday 29th May - 7.30pm, welcome night, dinner and party
Friday 30th May - Southampton to Brighton, dinner and party overnight in Brighton
Saturday 31st May - Southampton to Brighton, finish party and awards

There are many boats that will be able to make it now, in particular Dan Cramphorns Velocity '39, entering Supersport this year for a few races, will be unveiled on BladeRun!

We are still going to run the party this bank holiday Sunday on the beach at Bembridge from 11.30am. Its going to be fun with live music, barbecue and beer tent on the beach at the harbour entrance, so please come and join us as its a good run and fun when we get there! Charlie from Head First Water Sports has kindly donated all his toys for guests to use, kite surfing to wake boarding...

I can't believe your luck with the weather it's like putting all your money on black and letting it ride.

The good news is The Bandit team will be there. (oh on the cheap option )

Hoping to launch the boat on the 10th and get to Ribex

That or its cursed!

Anyway I love all the videos. What happened to the involvement with Round Britain? Will Ed Balme be brought back from exile in Argentina as some sort of mascot?
