Poker Run details

OK, July 2nd 2011.

Intention is, a slightly later start than usual, following a mid morning breakfast and briefing , then off out for the PR, with no lunch stop. So all 5 card stops on the trott around the Solent. This will take us to mid afternoon when we all head back to Drivers to clean up & recover, in time for the evening party / poker game / buffet. There will also be a BBQ fired up, but this is there for those who want more than just the buffet, so you can bring ya steaks, burgers, sausages, chops, whatever, and burn em yaself on the BBQ. Bit of music, maybe some vids etc. and Gill promises to the pole dancing bit this time.

Entry:

Boat & skipper - £75

Passengers - £25 each

Extra hands of cards -- £20

Launch / recovery / trailer storage for n on DDB customers - £55 inc.

Who's up for it???

Hed a chat to Gill today, and she has had some good thoughts regarding the poker run this year.
How about not publishing the course untill the briefing or having the last check point being a cryptic clue? or maybe just give lat and longs in the morning so a bit of nav work is needed? all these idea i think are good and would spice it up a bit, we would be interested in all your views on this.
Please support this event and bring your boats down.
Paul

I wouldn't enter if you do any of the nav / criptic clues etc as i'm not local and don't have chart plotter so it would defo put me off also i'd like to know the distance before entering as that will decide if i can enter or not. Sorry if I've put a downer on the ideas but its just my thoughts as i have only ever been on the south coast once before.

Thats not a problem mate as it was just a feeler for ideas, i would imagine 70nm is a fairly good idea for distance. i hope you do decide to do it as it is a laugh.
I think the idea so far is to not stop for lunch just do the 5 points and get back to the food, drink and game..
Again all subject to change.

To me the lunch stop is one of the best parts of the day (even if the food ain't all that), nice to have a few beers, a chat and some food, hopefully sitting in the sun for an hour or so.

As they say in dragons den, "I'm out"..........

I know I've said it for the last few poker runs, but if I can get the work done on the boat before then, then I am up for this, really enjoyed the one I went on... just things never seem to fit in for me to make the others.

At the moment though, I think I'm available for this one.

Will be doing it in the rib though, not the zapcat - and I need to work out if I can take enough fuel or not... I can take my jerry cans... just need to find a way of stowing them while underway
