Sincere question, is that where all boats will have to be left? I'm toying with the idea of coming, but not so sure I fancy having my boat grate its underside!

No mate, that's just where you would launch and recover! Boats will be left on moorings just off the venue (Piel island), if you watch this video looking off the venue http://youtu.be/NOQSHnbz3CQ you can see the moorings! There will be a ferry service and plenty of tenders to get to and from your boats!

That's 29 boats signed up now so if your thinking about coming don't leave it too long as places going thick and fast. 11 places available as we speak with a lot of intersest.
Theres all types of boats coming form 16 ft with 90 hp to larger boats with 900hp with a jetski or two signed up so it should be an epic event for all types of vessels and drivers.

The course, 27.5 mile with the longest leg being just over 7 mile, this should cater for all craft! Let's just hope the weather is on our side.

The first marker is the start point just off Piel Island, every other is a card boat.
Offshore and inshore so a mixture of conditions could be possible

A clearer map with gps co-ordinates of each card boat will be issued on the day of the run, this is just to show a rough route and distance we will be taking.

27 mile on a poker run won't be over in 20 minutes, If the general opinion is to go further then I'll extend the run to 40 miles but any further and some boats will struggle.

I would like to mate but I will be honest I probably won't if it's 27 miles. It's a longreat way for such a short distance.
but go with what you guys want to do its great that these events are happening finally. It's the only way forward that I see.

I'll see what the majority wants and get back to you!

Even if it stays as is you should come up, it's not all about the actual run it's about meeting everyone with the same mindset, there will be plenty of opportunity to blast your boats and go for a long spin if you desire
That being said I can quite easily up the distance to 40 miles!

Wha I'm thinking is having the two options and let the weather decide on
the day?

Optional 42 mile course

I share Paul (renegades) thoughts. Poker runs are great, but the courses need to be substantial enough to warrant the effort/journey/expense.

Are you having a lunch stop? I cant remember.

No it's start at 11am ish and then all the way to the last boat with no break, then onto the island for cards in, presentation for winners of the run and winner of the concourse de elegance trophy!
After this a hog roast and into the night with entertainment!

All in all it's going to be a top weekend, if the weather is on our side then there's no issues with 40 boats doing 42 mile on an offshore course, if the weather isn't great it's a recipe for the smaller boats so a 27 mile a bit closer
Inshore should do nicely

Most the people that have signed on seem happy with 27 mile but also with a longer one in ideal conditions.

It's not a race mate! Nothing stopping you going fast but it 100% is no race!
