Roll Call

OK, as is tradition, can we have a roll call to establish who's intending to take part.

I will be doing the course tomorrow and am hoping that if the weather permits, we'll head down to the western end of the Solent, possibly round the Needles into Freshwater bay for the morning (longer) run, and a shorter mid Solent course for after lunch.

For lunch, this time we will be heading back to the Folley Inn after a couple of events using alternative venues. Andy always looks after us well and it's a great atmosphere up the Medina.

I understand Gill is having a dancing cage installed high in the corner of the hanger for the evening bash, as Chaos will be making an appearance as a (partly) leather clad act he calls 'The Glow Worm'. I'm looking forward to that.

So...

Me
Ace
TD
Chaos
Pash/Blufin
Mamboking
ML / DGS
Mike G
Gordon McMouth

For anyone thinking of taking part, who's never done so before, if you'd like to get a taste of what a poker run entails, here's an article run by Motor Boat & Yachting after the editor, Hugo Andreas joined us for for the DW run in 2006.

PDF format. also a short video of the same event.

www.boatmad.com/poker/06poker.run.pdf

BTW, the MB&Y publication is a little bit bigger than A4, so couldn't get every bit of every page in, but it'll have to do.

And of course there's the video.

Still love the footage of chaos soiling his pants on that wake - and ICT's commentary on it.

For all you wondering if you should go, even for the banter in the evening was good and worth while.
If I knew the weather was guaranteed would happily take the phantom on the 1100 mile round trip again,

Hope you guys have a good time,

And for the rest of you Get the Finger out and get entered.

The worst thing is the guy had only just set the thing up, it wasn't even powered up and moving. Gaz was just relieving some tension

More entries needed

Spoke to Gill at Drivers today, she tells me she has only received 6 deposits for the Poker Run!

Plenty of people saying they will be there but she needs more confirmed entries.

If you guys want these events to be put on then you need to support them, it's a great days boating with a superb Hawaiian themed party in the evening.

Common guys, get those entries in.
