Sharon Atlee and Julie Lewis were part of the emirates team, both exceptional powerboat racers. I believe that julies old emirates 16ft phantom is currently leading the ocr 1.3L Division. The 17ft Argo that is currently for sale, was Eddie Bashams old boat and won the championship on two occasions. I also believe that Martin bulls argo was a 19. Chris auger, the gitts and Matt shepard were the only 21ft argo competitors if i'm not mistaken, but that was a long time ago.

Chaos, you are part right. One of the 16`s was driven by Julie Lewis, with Teena Mitchell as navigator and they went on to take the OCR 1.3ltr title in 2002.
The Tintorera 20 was also driven by Sharon Attlee, with hubby Ian as navigator. Sharon had previously raced for many years in a P16 with Jacky Porter, also under the Emirates banner. Sharon was awesome in the rough in her P16 and would regularly "embarass" most of the more powerful teams.

I am pretty sure that Martin`s was a 21. I think Emirates bought it off Julian Abbott, who originally aquired it from Mark Greenaway when he changed to a Tintorera. I could be wrong, cos the old age factor is very prevalent at the moment!

Fill your boots guys.
I went and looked at the boats yesterday as I was interested in what I thought was my old P16 and/or my brother's argo 21.
Here are the pics I took.
In my eyes the Argo is beyond economic repair. To repair this properly would need a hell of a lot cutting out, and the only way to lay it up properly would be to put it back in the mould. The split down the rear starboard side started to occur when Stuart was racing the boat many seasons ago. This has pulled and stretched with the stresses. It is likely to break its back, especially with a large motor hanging off the back.
The P16, which transpires isn't my old one well the hull isn't the deck is, though it looks half decent I have been informed it was involved in an RTA. The Transom has started to come away.
Apparently my old P16 went missing when the emirates team folded.
The Jet boat I think is a Fonda, didn't take much interest in that.
I will try and post some pics later.
Happy Day!!!!
Splitpin
