OK,
The secret project is on hold, due to the purchace of a new boat...
The secret project was to put a turbine engine on the Bladerunner with an outdrive...
Steel developments has a ready to go 1200hp engine ( weight approximately 190kg ) This would go through a gearbox and into an outdrive ( unfortunately not a duoprop )
It would have been quite a step up in power from the 600 hp previously. With the weight of the bladerunner the calculation for the new top speed was aproximately 130 mph.
But a load of work to sort out clean air for the engine. They do not like water - especially seawater. So I have designed a centrifuge water filter. It is quite bulky and would need to be made of carbon fibre or similar. Fiberglass would be too heavy.
Basically it would draw air from the front top of the boat, then into a spiral which would 'centrifuge' water to the outer sides of the spiral. Scoop traps would vent any water ( and a litle air ) with the main body of air 'dumping' into the 'engine bay' via a perforated piping system behind baffels. The turbine would draw air from the interior of the engine bay, which was sealed from the outside. This would also cool the engine bay. On stopping the engines, the engine bay hatch would open to allow natural heat to escape after engine off.
