20inch offshore mid needed ASAP!!
after hours and hours of drilling and heli-coiling my old offshore leg that had sheared studs, i have caused a miss-alignment problem and the shafts keep snapping off my gearbox(es) 3 boxes now!!!
i am looking for a 20inch offshore mid section, pref without saddle as mine is perfectly good, my saddle and trim ram is the old single style ram type.
also if some1 with more knowledge than me could enlighten me, the latest gearbox that i snapped the shaft on is a CLE 2 hole box and ran really reallly well!! i have a spare shaft from a standard box i could use to fix it with but are the shafts the same? i know standard boxes use s/s shafts and CLE use mild steel 4 a little added strength but phisicly is the standard S/S shaft the same? and does the whole box have to be stripped to fit the new shaft?? and should this be left to some1 who has done gearbox overhauls before or could i attempt it at home with fairly basic tools?
kinda bangin my head against the wall at the moment, was all set up ready 2 race! thought i had solved the alignment problem by drilling and helicoiling with new studs, obviously not was running really well 2

I saw you come flying into Herm yesterday, and my old man said he saw you being towed back in! Sorry to hear about that, she sounded well going past Vermerette!
I'm also looking for a 20" Offshore mid and gearbox as of now, I'll start my own thread though
