, No they were a couple of models that were laid on to promote the event a little.

As regards the speed the best person to ask is Alan, but I would estimate when I saw it running with 4 onboard an easy 85mph or so. He was still experimenting with props. What I can say (and have before) is that it is a quality product built by a guy that knows what he's doing. I mean come on 10,500 euro for that brand new........I'd prefer that to a 21 phantom even with the lastest techniques.

the 21 SportCat runs mid 80's, ran a best of just over 90 once and haven't repeated it yet, still trying though!

When you say Using that engine and set up, is there a better way to do it? Obviously a bigger engine would help, but regarding setup, I've just rigged it the way they do in the states which I've found is not always best suited to water conditions over here! If you have any suggestions that might help, that would be great.

Dowdy, sounds interesting! Have thought seriously about doing a bigger cat but the economy just isn't giving me high hopes.

HI Alan,wot you looking at to tool up for a under 30 foot boat?I am looking for something to do round our ireland in,two irishmen,in an irish boat,sponsored one way or another by guinness,drum up the publicity at the boats inaugral debut at the N.E.C.show,ready for its first race in may2010.The sponshorship package my daughter and her team could generate should pay all of our costs,i need to know figures so she can ask what for.O P M mate O P M.we have got a year to prepare this,are you up for it?Iam.

Hi cookee,the web site for the round ireland race does not tell you jack shit at the moment,all i can see at the moment is that it will be limited to 50 boats,what boats,nobody knows,but if you are one of the first to show intent and commitment then they will have to devise a class to accomomdate you surely,this will not be something to just turn up and go,i am already planning for it now,approx 400 days to go and counting,if you have got any info share it on here.

I know nothing!

However I would assume that it would be the same or similar to the existing classes which are for monohulls only? As I say I know nothing, but I would ask someone and going by the way things can change get it in writing!

My personal view would be that it would be unlikely to include cats in this race, however it would be great to see a totally Irish team in the race!
