Looks a lot like a stretched Shakespeare 650 which I suppose is just what you would expect..

That one used to have small block petrols in it. Lived in the Southampton area.
They're really nicely built and finished.
Francis (the builder) recently sent me an original brochure for the 960, I'll scan it and post it when I get homw (friday)
It certainly looks similar to the 650, though of course the 650 isn't stepped. Tis way bigger, much beamier also.
The 960 is a Lorne Campbell design.

jon you are almost right there was a 960 in red in merlins and then round on the hamble but i thinkthis one was also owned by cliff grant before or after the white one ime not sure but it was faster than my boat cliff always said it did 50 knots was kept in brixham i maybe wrong but i think its the only one with yamahas the only issues i ever had about it was it handled strange in a following sea fantastic build quality and the guy in the add is right it was good in the rough too be honest i dont no why i ever sold it

There was only 1 red 960 it was the show boat and she did do 50knts every time I asked her.
I swapped out the ageing 350 mags for Yamaha 240 sti ,aqua drives Coastal Rides did a crap swap out and it took me months to get it sorted.
I took the boat to my place in WPB,FLA.
She went through two hurricannes no problem "big ole heavy ass Redcoat boat didn't move an inch on her lift" a local remarked. she then went to Hawaii as new owners bought her just to copy the hull. Some years later she went back to mainland USA as a guy named Burgess Chan bought her and she's in California.
She currently has merc or Volvo 200hp diesels fitted cant remember what Burgess said.
Wish I had kept her.
Would probably buy a 960 again but Francis only made 6.
Francis remarked "they were like the Hesketh motorcycle' buy the time he finished getting them right they was 100k in 1991 and then the recession came along!

I have just purchased a Shakespeare 960 with Mercruiser 220hp diesels.
I think it is the one that once belonged to Cliff as mentioned in previous post.
Unfortunately the boat was delivered with no records or info on her not even a boat name so would really appreciate if anyone can help fill in the spaces.

Hi,
I am not selling her just trying to find out some history on her.
The boat is White and approx 1995 I think.

Hi,
Yes it's the blue interior but when I got the boat it had no name. I have since found out it could be Mr Whoppit.
Do you know the boat?
