I'm pretty sure the first ones here (Pete Littles & Max Walkers) were 2 litre rigs.

If it's interesting, scan in it in at about 200dpi, zip it up and mail it to me - I'll stick it in my articles section

Ian Cutlers B-22, ('Large-it') which he bought from Max Walker minus engine, had previously been raced in what I understand was a local/club type class with a big Jonnyrude on it's arse (2.6 litre I think) Ian Had some pics of it racing with that motah.

That was one very light B-22.

It's the one he 'spanked' the Vulture Ventures 1.3 team with, time and time again sorry Mark, had to say it!

Spanked !

Well it's true to say that he did usually spank us but there's no substitute for length ! Enc a picture of the spanked boat. Eagle eyed observers will notice the holes all along the spray rails to allow air to blow the water off the hull ...

How did them holes work - increase in speed?

Also is that a big vent hole at the start of the planing pad?

Frode 19

The spray rails were vented to inside the hull under the deck to a deck scoop as was the vented pad about 2 feet forward of the transom on the keel line. Both things are used to draw air under the hull to decrease the friction of the water and thus theoreticaly top speed. I am pretty sure that the pad worked but no convinced about the value of the drilled spray rails. Boat did run really nicely though. Bit of a handful in a following sea as with little recovery you had to keep the power on. We then tried some bow fins, similar to those modelled by Ian Stirling's F200 Phantom 21. see pic:
