Smile Bargain mint ring 16 for sale!

Hi,

I'm putting my much loved ring 16 up for sale as i'm looking to buy a catamaran from Danny on here. I'm in Guernsey so I'll be able to deliver the boat anywhere in the UK free of charge (within reason) as i have to pick up the new one anyway!

£3000 ono

She's a late 90's R16, with a '99 suzuki 140. She comes with a 3 yr old SBS galvanised trailer as shown.
Has hydraulic steering, tandem layout to improve space, all new flooring and complete refit a year ago, 100L ally fuel tank under rear seat, foot throttle, trim tabs to stop any chine riding, stainless prop, kevlar seats and probably a million things i've forgotten!
The floor has been made with a footwell to make it much more comfortable to sit in than usual, more room for yer knees!
I have a cover too, it's green and sounds worse than it looks!
She was serviced over the winter and has always been looked after. Gets washed and flushed after every use.
All in all a complete package ready for use. Tank is even full to the brim with 100L of super unleaded too!!

I need a quick sale ideally as the ferry prices forme to come accross and do the sale/ buy the new boat are way lower than usual.

I was thinking the price would be around the £3000 mark as this is what i need from her to afford the new boat. If anyone thinks this is over or under priced please let me know!
I'll consider offers purely as i need a fast sale.

Cheers

This boat is NOT a Ring 16. I cut up the moulds for the R 16 series D in the Mid Nineties as a precaution againt them them falling into the wrong hands.

It is not one of the boats I built , therefore it is not entitled to carry my trade mark or be " Passed off" as my product.

This is the only comment that I will make on this subject .

Hmmm, ok well now i'm slightly confused!

I'm just going by what i was told when i bought the boat a couple of years ago, would anyone know what it might be then??
It seems very strongly built, definately not something built by an amatuer!
I've heard rumor that it could be a 15, but it used to run a 90 so i'd assumed it was wrong info... I'm definately not an expert on this though.

Mike - Could you let me know your thoughts on this, by reply or pm, I don't want to decieve anyone here. Also if this is indeed not one of yours, would you like me to remove your name from the ad? The last thing i want to do is cause offence!

Many thanks,

James

Sold now, the guy knows it might not be a ring too

Would still be interested to see the answers to the above, then I'll know for next time!

its sold now im quite aware, but ive owned three of your boats, i hope, 2 of them 16's (at the tender age of 19) and i would be fooled, although never thought you made a tandem decked boat, i would have just assumed wither a one off, or modified by a previous owner
obviously its a splash, but felt you were quite harsh in your reply to the gentleman concernd who was selling it, unless prior to the sale yourself had indicated to the gentleman selling, that i was not and original boat.
understandabley i can imagine, likewise to the whole splashing of phantoms threads on here, its frustrating and takes the piss, and dont want it to carry your name, but, y refuse to comment more on the subject and refuse a prospective buyer more info on a prospective purchase??

I may be able to see where the problem is here, It's not a tandem deck, i re-floored it and layed it out that way myself as i found it a bit cramped in standard layout. I wasn't told in advance that it wasn't a ring, but then i hadn't asked. I wasn't aware of this whole 'splashing' thing as i'm new on here. Lesson learnt!
Is there any way to tell what is a genuine ring? I'm sure i may buy another one in the future, possibly a 21, and i'd like to be able to know i'm gotting a genuine one?
I totally appreciate Mike's position here, having read the seaquel post about building a boat, i can imagine how frustrating it must be to have someone copy your years of hard work to make a quick profit.
Perhaps we could use a sticky post from Mike on how to identify one of his boats?
Freedom, thanks for your support.

Cheers

Ring power boats

I have owned a few Ring boats and unless i am mistaken there is usually a Ring Powerboat comp slip glassed in under the dash area with the reference number written on it which denotes the year of manufacture and model, and also then proves its authenticity.Hope this helps.

ring 16

Further to last post I am sure the boat was sold by Sunsport marine the Ring distributors in Guernsey It had one of the first 3 cylinder yamaha 70 hp engines and wiped up in its local class the first race out.
Definetly a Mike Ring built boat.

Genuine Ring?

I have recently bought what I believe to be a genuine Ring 18
Is there a definitive way of establishing if it is indeed genuine?
Where do I need to look for build numbers etc?
