Cowling hold down straps wanted

Can anyone help me out - I am looking for two rubber hold down straps (and brackets) for a Merc Racing S3000 cowl.

The part numbers for these are 817708 for the strap and 71602 for the bracket.

Two of these were missing on my engine when I bought it so the cowling is very loose. I ordered a couple form my local dealer but when received they are to short. Only later did I find the correct Merc reference number.

I have tried search the assorted web sites for alternatives but its the length that seems to be an issue (160mm overall).

I have sourced them in the US but before I placed an order I wanted to check if there are any readily available in the UK - second hand is fine. Its only the straps and u-brackets I need, everything else is still in place.

Cheers

Thanks, that would be appreciated.
The existing ones are 160mm overall and 110mm from pin to center of the "ball". The two that are left on the engine do have the ref number molded into the rubber (817708)

There does appear to be two different sizes, when I went to my Merc dealer and checked their files we ordered what we thought was the correct strap for my type of cowling. When the arrived it was discovered they were way to short and closer inspection showed a different reference number molded on the strap - the 817708 is the size currently on the engine and the smaller ones had a different number (I don't have ready access to these at present to check them).

Looking on the US supply sites there is definitely a strap for the S3000 cowl with the number 817708.

I've got:

4 x 817708 tie downs
3 x 13734 retainers
3 x 71602 yokes

all new and in their original bags, however the lengths aren't quite as you wanted. These are 150mm overall and 105mm pin to centre of ball but I guess yours have stretched. The tie with retainer retail at £40.00 but you can have these at £20 each (tie, retainer and yoke) inc p&p as long as it's not an arm and a leg from Jersey to Scotland. Take three sets and i'll throw in the 4th tie foc.

cheers

Dave.
