Deck/Screen & dash wanted
Hi all,
No big rush but trying to prepare...
I'm going to be converting the B28 to a 4 seat layout so I'm on the lookout for a good looking screen & dash to use.
Ideally I'd love a Bernico dash but getting one from Nico himself seems to be impossible, even though he seemed happy enough with the idea!
Ocke does a drop in cockpit using the same 'cut hole and attach screen by flange' principle I plan to use, but A, it's impossible to get one and B, I don't really like the look of it.
If you've got anything that may be of use or a good idea (which isn't sarcastic!), please get in touch.
Cheers, James

Sorry, can't help with your request but can you put some pics up of your boat and any progress? This conversion sounds really interesting.

I reckon the cockpit that's in it is the best, looks "proper hard".

I'll agree the cockpit on it at the moment looks great, but it doesn't fit with what I want. The boat needs to be a 4 seater and to be honest I think they look great as a 4 seater too. Look up 'Vector' if anyone needs convincing!
I'm not fussed about dropping value or anything as there can't be many people wanting a tandem 2 seat B28 right now.
I rekon it'll look ace with a Bernico dash & screen or similar if done properly.

Hi Alan,
That's exactly the idea of what I'm looking for, but far too 'square' for what I want. I don't think it'd sit well with the lines of the boat. I'd also need the screen to go right back to the rear seat on both sides.
I'd be interested to see the layout of the Sportcat and 650 screen/dash, gota admit I don't know what boat the '650' is!
Thanks,
James

Sorry James 650 = Seaquel 600XS/Shetland 1900S just thought we'd give it another name change!
Yeah, was thinking the exact same thing, it is a very boxy dash, and Im not too fond of it either, dont think it fits the smooth lines of the boat its for either! Wanted to do something different but didnt have the time.

Ha ha, I just searched about and found the 650, also realised it was the seaquel!
I'm being fussy on this one, needs to do the 28 justice. I really really want a Bernico dash, it's just a bloomin nightmare getting one!!

Hi Bob,
Haven't spoken to Nico on the phone, no. I emailed him a while ago and he was happy with the idea, then he just stopped replying to my emails.
To be fair to the guy he's busy building big money boats for big money buyers so I'm not suprised I'm not on the top of his priority pile! Trying to explain what I wanted was proving to be an issue too!
If there's anything you could do to help I'd be eternally grateful, I've really got my heart set on one of his screens/dashes!
It'd be amazing if he came over, wouldn't mind meeting the guy! It's half tempting just to jump on a plane and go see him, having a look round Bernico must be worth the trip! If you're going again let me know!
James
