I'm not sure that twin turbo motors would be any good in an offshore boat on and off the throttle unless the turbo lag was undetectable?

Just my thought - anyone know any different?

I wouldn't touch 'em even if they were free...................these are the engines Eduardo Polli spent millions trying to get to work in his Class 1 boat.......................and they don't

Absolutely nothing whatsoever ! I Agree with T B-C !!
Having said that put a piece of glass on top of one and it would make a nice table ...

Try a google search, you get some pictures of these engines sitting on a stand in a museum shame - they look good, I assume they have some historical importance - where they ever used outside of boats?

It's funny you should say that when I noticed this post I thought they look just like ....and they were and as you said in the late 80's EP never made them a goer or should I say a finisher even with his zillions

Actually 20 foot is not so crazy. I have physically watched some nutters with a 16 footer and a v hull boat not much bigger than a surfboard hit 180mph in a sprint race with Nitro powered bigblock v8 on the back. He reconed 1400hp!!

The boat was so low in the water at start the 'driver' was sitting in the water and the sump was wet.

No crash canopy - just a chair bolted to the front!
