For Sale Mariner 225 Optimax

Hi guys, decided to sell my Mariner 225 Optimax as its hardly been used due to change in lifestyle since buying!

It was fitted new in 2007 and has around 100 hours on it!

It has been covered when not in use so no marks or damage and looks like new!

Looking for offers around £7k which is half the price it was when new!

Could you email me hi-res pics of it? preps @ os.dk

Is it 20" or 25" leg?

Do you have a print out of the run time history?
How about compression number on all six holes, better yet leak-down numbers?

Thanks

Hi, don't have any pics but will try and get some at the weekend. The engine is in as new condition though!

Its a 20" leg.

Run time history is recorded on the Smart craft dials. Compression is fine and engine runs very strong.

Thanks

Thanks mate,

The total hour is shown on your Smart Craft display

The run time history is logged by the PCM, and is only accessable through a computer diagnostic program. It shows the run time in hours of each 1000 rpm steps.

Are you planning on doing a compression test before selling?

Just to be helpful, think your missing the point, £7K for an engine is not small change and anyone who would be interested in buying it would (should) want scientific evidence as to its condition - In my game "No need for compression test as its all fine." just doesn't work, and possibly prevents you getting a sale!

Imho if it was me I'd be compression testing/leak-down testing, bore scoping and reading ECU data to make sure everything is as it should be.

Thanks for your ideas, but I don't have the equipment and knowledge to carry out such tests!

Have you reconsidered having the compression tests done? I'm looking to replace my opti 225 but that's a lot of cash to splash on a 7 yr old motor, it might look perfect outside, but everything has 7 years of sitting around, that could be a lot of corrosion, or as you say it could be perfect? I was looking for a250 25" but yours might be ok?
Let me know if you decide to get it looked at and a report!
In box me.
Tony
