Red and white ,have some pic,s here non digital 12 years old you can see we were busy with sanding and bondo.
The upholstery that came with the boat was one big sundeck with just 2 holes in it ,you can stand right up in.
Upholstry colors were white and teal, blue ,I thought
We still have it laying around here.
Bye the way this is my friends boat,I put it up for sale for him,
I helped him with all the work, and mounting the drive /engine
thats why I talked in the WE form.

I saw a p 28 red / white somewhere thats called BRUT,and as I talked to you before it looks like that one.
According to the original gelcoat that came up during sanding.
I will try to scan these pic,s and put them up here.

OK, could be 'BRUT', that boat was involved in a collision, and got some damage to the deck. I think it also got dropped by a crane driver at some point, but am not certain. After being red/white, it got re-painted silver, when sanding/preparing, did you come across any silver paint?

'BRUT' and 'Warrior' were the only two triple OB 28's in the UK I think. There was a triple OB 28 that went to Spain, this was red all over, triple 2.4's, but don't think it ever came back to the UK.

I'll post a couple of pics.

When my friend bought it it was all white, and it had very big Cougar decals on it.
The engines were 2,4 ,s 200 hp,but I,m not 100% of that.
I never saw silver paint coming thru.
The Warrior ,was it red at the bottem too?
We found some bondo in the deck, but nothing major.
They did something with the lowers I had never seen before.
I will try to explain in my best Englisch
They drilled a hole in the bullet all the way up to were you mount an elbow for a nose cone(these were stock lowers non HP)
and with a hose to the water pump location just like a nose cone situation.
I asked my friend if he could remember, and he said the sides were all red and the deck had some white contours.
But also he thought the bottem was white.
So it could be that boat.

I can't find the pics of the Spanish 28, but here's a couple of 'BRUT' and one of 'Warrior' warrior was originaly called OCL Suzuki.

I thought BRUT was built relatively heavy, and wasn't aware that it had any Kevlar in it. I'll find out.

I,m pretty sure its the one called brut.
We weight that hull bare at 600 kilo,s
And we found that extremely light.
Inside Steve made a tube,or something like that, in both sides.
1,5 inch round .
The interior/upholstry is completely different, but someone could have installed that later.
Thing is the 1 st owner, my friend bought it from said he bought it in the U.K,but isn,t that strange with such big Cougar decals on it?

100% sure,We asked Pete Currington 12 years ago, when we wheren,t sure ourselves, and he said : we never build a 28 V bottem ,the way it sounds its a 28 phantom.
In fact I,m sure it is the boat in the pic,,BRUT or a simulair one.
Maybe they did the decals in Spain, and that he bought it in Spain.
But he claims he bought it in the U.K.
Another thing, there was a huge fuel tank in the bow, just a feet or 2 from the dash, around 700 liters, and a 200 liter ballast tank in front of the fuel tank.
and a fuel tank in the back,+- 200 liters, they bolted that front fuel tank with a bucket full with big bolts and nuts,4-5 kg stainless steel for bolts only.
And the frame under the upholstery was made of aluminium square tubing.

It used to be kept at Cougars (Hamble Point) when it was racing, they dropped it when craning!

We found no damage to the bottem, not even a piece gelcoat was missing.
If it was damaged ,it should come up during sanding and preparing for anti fouling.
Does anybody know about how bad it was?
and where?
If it wasn,t to bad I think they repaired with gelcoat, couse we didn,t find nothing.
Are all the U.K p28 build light?and if not ,how heavy is a heavy one?

Wasn't all that quick.

Had triple 175's (150 in todays money) and was set up for the 1984 Round Britain event, big tanks, heavy-ish build (I thought), High 60's I think Steve said.

It ran in UIM Class II for a bit after the Round Britain, then they built the yellow 'BRUT', which was a full Aramat construction, triple 2.4 EFI's, very light. that ran 86mph i think. but ran better in later years with twin 2.5's from a ballance perspective.
