Jack Plate Wanted

Hi all...am a newbie here. Apologies for launching straight in with a "Wanted"....hope it's okay.

Am a member on RIBnet and came across this site whilst searching for info on Jack Plates (few of the same members i think).

I have a RIB which currently runs a 20" shaft and think i've just sourced an XL 25" shaft replacement (good as I'm keen to get the powerhead up higher etc). It's not a big lump, just a 150 Optimax....

Have been looking at raising the transom, but think a jack (manual probably due to cost /no need to adjust) is way to go as it will bolt straight on with no new holes etc.

Not all that clued up on them, so open to any suggestions /options, but had wanted as little set back as poss with a 5 inch lift.

Can get new from states with 2.5" set back, but there's obviusly shipping to pay. Was wondering if anyone supplied in the UK new or whether there was anyone with on for sale secondhand that might work.....

Looks a great site, have enjoyed reading through threads...

Thanks,

Dan

We have a fixed bracket that will do the same thing - a bit more setback though and new.

Email me if you're interested and I'll send you photos and details cookee@bananasharkracing.com

Hi Burty....

A couple of reasons for raising....

Firstly, the powerhead can sit quite low sometimes when laden with 8 people (six divers with gear) and at rest.

Secondly, the boat is coded and to achieve the 250mm freeboard required when laden, we have to have a hypalon skirt inside the boat (across the transom cut down for the 20 inch shaft)....by raising the engine we can put something a bit more substantial in it's place

Guess with a racing /sports boat you like to keep weight lower down?

D.

Thanks for the offers /PM's guys. Cookee - apologies for not responding...

To close this out, following some headscratching we will now be raising the transom with a S/S build up plate and without a set back Jack plate...

Work due to commence end of the month (when hopefully it's warmer).
Thanks again all

Dan
