Is there anywhere I can find out a bit more about this class, a link to rules or a site etc.
Thanks...

This is part of the Formula 200 class - really anything with upto 200hp outboard.

There will still be seperate sub-sections to the class such as 3C (old 2 litre), F1 RIBs (was F2 last year) and a class for others such as the old XR2 powered OCR boats and Phantoms, Marshans etc. This last section has so far been called 'production'.

Thus there will be overall line honours for Formula 200 - which could be from any of the above sub sections. This is what the public will see - hopefully one race with a lot of boats.

However there will still be points awarded to the seperate sub-sections for championships.

Hope this all makes sense!

There should be some news from the newly formed steering committee soon as to the final rules etc.

as things stand at the moment F200 as it will be known will be a mix of all 200hp boats, ribs, class3,production.the term production will be all 200hp boats that at the moment do not have anywhere to race. min length will be 18ft phantom type boats. you will be able to race, with one day licence, twice in one season. if you get a taste for it you then can upgrade your licence to full national.By doing this you get the chance of running alongside all national boats. we are all working really hard to get this off the floor and kickstart the whole racing scene.we have full support from the rya, and when the final details are ready ,they will be posted here on boatmad .if there is anything else you need or need to know just post on F200

Thanks

Thanks for that, I supose I should have looked in the F200 section before asking

Sounds like a good class, I wonder would my boat be eligible or would it even stand a chance, is this an offshore race?

basically it must be 18 feet plus and 200hp engine. there will be other stipulations but these will be safety equipment etc.
