I saw that - absolutely shocking if it is a 16. Bet the arse end sits v v deep in the water and that it handles like a bag of shite.
I have seen engines advertised with this company and they have all seemed very very expensive!

i gotta be honest, i thought that aswell. it doesnt look small enough to be a 16, but there the professionals, surely they must be right, right???
it also still looks like its got a hand throtle and cable steering ect0, not that thats bad, but i wouldnt imagone its been upgraded though, because it hasnt been stated, i wouldnt want to be behined the wheel
there definition of naughty, must also mean deadly. lol

Looks more like an 18 from the pics, but the colour scheme is the same as one that's been for sale at some marina on the south coast since the days of the dinosaurs. They want over 4 grand for theirs and it's got a Merc 90 from the early 1990's on it.
Even with what I know about boats, which is Dick, I would think that that will be very, very hairy if it's on a 16!

Would you get insurance on it? What's the max for a 16ft Ring anyway? Bloody sight less that 225 I would imagine!

not sure what manufactured max is but I'd guess 120hp, I know of a couple, with 150 on and the are a bit of a handful, the owner said its hard to control flat out trimmed up unless perfect conditions, unless your a really experienced race driver

fully kitted out with:
225hp Yamaha V6, in almost as new condition
boat cover
bilge pump
12gal fuel tank
|
Twelve gallon tank?? Lemme see....225HP engine, 10% rule.... that gives 22.5 Gallons per hour, so about half an hour at full whack before it's swim home time.
Someone didn't do their homework very well!
I still say it's an early 18. I went to look at one identical to this in the Midlands last summer, only very scabby condition. That was overpriced too!

As Mike Ring is still knocking out these deck boats they seem to keep their value even if some are not so well looked after.
I did read that the K-class were opening up an event where 16ft boats with 90hp outboards was opening up to all ages. Speculation was that many of the old moulds would be dug out polished up and production restarted. Having said that I saw on the web that Plancraft was looking to sell some older moulds one being the Sabre.

Ye! Iv seen them advertize too. though I'd of thought a 225 yam on a 16 whatever, would have sunk straight to the bottom!

Think you guys are right : 18ft not 16ft !
... which means I'm still on the rather fast side with my Ring 16ft and 140 Evinrude... Did some setup testing in the past and now doing 65mph flat out. She's a handfull controlling the chinewalk, but real fun to drive...
Greets to y'all,
T.

I used to ski-race an 18' Ring that Mike built heavy specifically to take a 235 Evinrude. He was still in the Barley Mow then and it was rigged by Doc Brock. You learnt to drive a Ring very quickly, very quickly!

My mates P16 with a 175, it's quick and not too much of a handfull but he hasn't jacked it up yet so that should get prety lively!
I would think a 225 would be a waste for top end, you wouldnt see it regularly and probably need some pitch too, I bet it accelerates though
