Pair of HO 496's

There is a pair of low hour HO 496's for sale in the "Offshore" classifieds. They are in the states and advertised at 14,000 Dollars US.

Anyone want to go halves?

Tony D, whats it cost to ship a motor from the states?

That'd liven up the old girl.

Yep, that'd rip the engine beds out nicely.

On a 5 day air service your looking at around £450.00 into Bournemouth, with 2.8% duty and 17.5% vat on the total cost including shipping. You could ship by sea but you only save a little, and wait a lot longer.

TD,

Is that a good price for a pair?

What sort of performance could i expect from one of these in my formula 242?

Sounds pretty good, assuming they're low hours and in good nick. Dereberry sell them for $9k plus $1.5k if you don't have an exchange!

Don't know about performance, but I'd guess at around 6-8mph more. The good bit would be fuel consumption, as they're so much better than the old carb motors

Try and do a good deal on your 496HO, as you'll need a couple of large for one of these beauties!

2" shortened, HD Imco Bravo lower unit!
