Part ex for old trailer?? Know anyone

I am in desperate need of a twin axle trailer for my Ring 21. Its on a Braked single axle at the moment, and I am wondering if anyone knows anyone who does part exchange on trailers. I am still unsure if I can spend the money but if I get an ok price for my trailer then I might consider going ahead with a purchase.

Help!!

Have you thought about converting your existing trailer to twin axles?

I'm converting my trailer at the moment using brand new axles.

A pair of 1300Kg axles with brake assemblies manufactured to your existing stud pattern and width runs out at about £600.

You just need another pair of wheels.

Or if your existing axle is OK, then just put one more on for about £300

options options, this is good. I can get photos taken and post them on here, she is a little rusty here and there, the brakes especially. It has new tires and rims. I also did consider changing her to twin axle, it seems a good idea but its like adding new bits to a semi old steel frame, shes not galvanised by the way either. Anyway I will get my thoughts collected and see what maybe the most cost effective.

that trailer looks too short by about 2 feet, so I'd change it rather than replace axles. Also steer well clear of sealed bearing units if you plan to use a slipway, get servicable bearing hubs with bearing buddies . I'm five years in on original bearings now. I have a de graff they were really helpful.

We manufacture and sell marine trailers and never have a problem with sealed bearing hubs. usually find through out the racing fraturnity using slipways its a new set of bearings every year using normal tapers but not with sealed and seen plenty of three wheeled trailers. think you'll find some manufacturers won't like them because they cost more and it eats into there profits. If your not sure speak to Robert Morgan in Technical at Avonride.
I can supply axles with normal taper bearings for about £12 less

In my experience, sealed hub possibly once a month then you have the hassel of getting them pressed in, i remeber one set not even lasting the weekend so had to carry two sets of spare hubs just in case. a real pain in the butt but if ( thunderbirds ) axles are better than the ones we had then cool but i prefer servicable bearing with bearing buddies every time i launch out with the grease gun two pumps job done

It might be my lucky week, theres a twin axle sitting off at my dry dock place thats been left, might be aquiring that through the guys there. Anyway failing that I will be buying extra axles I think, not sure I will be doing lots of research to see which is cost effective and safe
