Bought this rig purely to remove the nice low hours Optimax 225 it had sat on the back which will be going on my P28 when I can find another lump to match.
She is a late 88 / early 89 genuine Steve Baker Phantom 21.
Hull number is 33B.
Gelcoat is reasonable for the age. It's got some crazing in the stripes on the sides which I think is from the glue off the back of some graphics it must have had earlier in life. From what I can see inside it's all pretty solid, transom looks good, floor is solid and can't find any delamination under the deck.
Interior is quite tidy, there are a few marks / holes here and there but not enough to warrant a re-trim.
She will come with a complete hydraulic steering system which is all still attached plus a foot throttle (with throttle cable still attached) and a pro trim lever which is still on the helm.
All you need to find is a suitable engine with gear controls, some gauges and a battery to get her up and running.
There is a large alloy fuel tank behind the back seat - I'd say it will hold 100-120 litres, possibly more. Managed to drain 80 litres of fuel out of it and wasn't anywhere near the top when I started!
Under the foredeck there is a large grp water balast tank. I'm told that it's fully functioning - the pickup and dump seem to work but having not been out on the water in her can't say for certain.
Behind the back seat there is a home-made bracket for fitting a std battery plus a decent sized electric bilge pump. There is a manual hand operated bilge pump which works fine but the bracket has been damaged so will need to be repaired for regular use.
The fuel filter/water separator is still on the transom - suggest you fit a new canister as the old one looks a bit rusty.
There is a pretty tired cover included which has split across the cockpit. It is repairable for summer use but I'd suggest buying a new overall cover off Ebay for £60 before winter arrives.
She is sat on a Snipe 4 wheel braked trailer. (breakback model) Towed it home ok (around 20 miles) but have not stripped the bearings down for inspection. I'm told it had 2 new axles a couple of years ago along with new brakes etc. They've been painted in stonechip/underseal for a bit more protection. Will come with a lighting board and tie down strap.
That's about all I can tell you really.
Welcome to come and have a look over her, if there is no interest on here then she will go on Ebay next week.
Rather than putting up a higher price only to get knocked down I will say now that first offer of £2500 takes her away.
Located 10 mins from Jn 8 / 9 of the M27 just outside Warsash village.
