Cake walk this- make it out of 9mm marine ply, epoxy coat it and fair the corners the information leaflet with the epoxy shows you how to make a box.
you might want 19mm ply for the top

Simple seat boxes

Made some really simple but nice ones years ago for my Sharp.

Bought a couple of plastic storage boxes, just waxed them up inside and laid them up with gel coat and then CSM. Once cured trimmed the top flange off, turned them up side down and cut a 6 inch circle in the side which I later filled with a 6 inch twist off access hatch.

Laid up some more gel coat and CSM the same size as the box opening on a flat piece of aluminium, placed the new up side down box on the laid up flat sheet then glassed up with more CSM round the corners trough the 6 inch hole to form a solid box.

Worked really well and had a good external gel coat finish, very strong as most storage boxes have a male and female inset either end which gives more strength to the finished box. If you can find a box with the right foot print once laid up they can be trimmed to the right height before filling the bottom in. I used to keep safety flares and first aid in one and emergency anchor rope and chain in the other.

I'll make you one exactly as you want it if you like, a quick look at the revenger thread shows how picky I am about quality.

Cheers, James
