Don't feck about with second hand stuff. Steering gear is a serious business, and in the scheme of things, it's a cheap part.

Get nice new gear, after all, it's not like you can't afford it!

We are now importing the LS twin side mounted system.

Excellent sytem and at a bit better price than the top American ones.

we have the first two systems we have ordered arriving any day now.

I actually tried a boat fitted with it last year and ws really impressed. It was also used by a number of boats racing on the continent.

Will post soem more details as soon as I can.

Still awaiting our first sytems - have left France anyway!

Have found a couple of photos with boats using them. Apologies for quality of pics!

Nicely engineered - with twin side mounted rams, using tilt tube as common mounting / pivoting.

LS helm

when i bought my p21, it came with some remainings of the steering that was fitted.
Hoses and a 90ccm capacity LS Pompes steering helm. I mailed LS, cause I suspected that some kind of dual cylinder setup was used, but did not get any info from them, besides the name of the german importer.
I have a seastar pro ready for fitting, but the idea of trading it and completing the LS setup sound attractive as well.

Are you using variable displacement helms for your setup? Guess 90ccm is giving a quite direct steering ratio...
You heard about the setup, I suspect, was in my boat?
Any idea about the cost of the rear end of the steering, and source for a wingplate fitting a Merc 2.5?

Working very well on NightNurses boat - my old winged monohull. Had a few teething problems but 100% sorted now.

Will be very happy to run it on what ever I will be racing next.
