Urgent - 23p Laser Needed!!
Desperately need one of these ASAP, i.e. next few days to allow testing for cowes...
if anyone has one we could borrow/rent/buy please help!
Could be sent on Hovercraft or we could pick up from the south coast...
Cheers, Max

Dad had a long chat with Howard Wretham today and afterwards asked me to find a laser 23 before cowes - I'm just following instructions.

Didn't you used to have a BackDraft? What did you run for circuits and what revs did you run? Cheers, Max

Aren't backdrafts meant to be best on a small hub 26" cleaver?

currently got a 24 lightnin worked down from a 26, used it on the poker run, been told we wanna be pullin 6300 - 6500 to hit the powerband and aren't really lookin for top-end on a circuit. the lightenin would've been great for round the island but want the acceleration out of turns....

You should speak to "carly baby" on here! He always used to do well with his 2litre backdraft!

I believe the fastest ever was an ultralight one that ran 76, but it was too flexible. They reinforced it, but the extra slowed it down. I think Pete also reckoned adding a bow tank was the worst thing he ever did to them. Carl's one had a 26" small hub cleaver on it and ran 72 mph @ 7200rpm, with the propshaft either 1/4" above or below (can't remember), engine mounted directly on transom.
Remember Pete did a lot of testing to arrive at the 26" small hub cleaver.
