Not enough races to justify having it just sitting there doing nothing not like when me and you ran orda and had races every 3 weeks all we get now is excuses as to why clubs can't put races on

Yeah, It's been coming for a while now hasn't it...I don't blame the clubs, it's just too expensive to put a decent event on and the boats and crews aren't there to pay the entry fees needed to try and balance the books.....destroying class 3 with the canopy rules didn't help, that was probably the first of many nails....and with constant rule changes, smaller courses because of demands for extra safety coverage and spectator needs, and the sad loss of several giants of the sport who had been holding it all together for years, it was always going to be a struggle to carry on. Whether or not some RYA decisions could have made a difference is another chapter...I would say probably but that's just my opinion and easy in hindsight. Having said all that Guernsey have proved its possible and hats off to the GPA, great team over there.
Personally I'm very grateful to have had the years that I did in the sport with some brilliant people at the time.

must disagree dave,i do blame the clubs,too many hidden ajendas,if there was only one club it would be simple,if you had the key people from existing clubs they would have to work together
