Wanted 70-90hp

Hi,

For a friends Fletcher Vigo, he is new to boating and purchased it last year with an old 4cyl 75 Mercury, but it was a bit unreliable and had no power trim.

He sold that to his father in-law and purchased a Ring 16 with a Yamaha Autolube 80hp because he wanted the engine, it turned out to be a 60hp and was a dud that never worked from day one. Traded that in for an Ex RNLI Yamaha 75hp from a second hand dealer, with warranty etc but sadly that engine only lasted around 10 mins before dying, dealer replaced it with another one under warranty and this one lasted around 20mins. The dealer has accepted the engine back and given a full refund.

The chap has had a fair bit of bad luck for his first year of boating and is thinking about giving it all up before he is even got started. All he wants is a reliable 2 stroke 70 - 90hp so he can go fishing.

If anyone knows of anything not too old, please let me know.

Cheers

Tohatsu 70hp

I have the last of the Tohatsu 70 hp proper two strokes. It's done 12 hrs from new and has been sat in my garage ever since. The lid has a few scratches but the engine is spankers new underneath. It's about 4 years old and hasn't been run in 3 years.
