Hi I have a pattern one that the lower tray has got damaged and I've struggled to keep the cowl on.If I can't find a reasonable genuine one then I might get you to make me a light weight pattern one as the one I have is very heavy and that might be some of the reason it keeps trying to depart the boat.Cheers Nic

I make the lower tray fairly heavy and put a stainless bar in the side to stop the top cowl falling inside the lower, use this and either a top pin or strap and it shouldnt get loose.

Protex.com and you need a set of catchbolts in stainless - Won't come off then!

Each time mine has come loose the top cover has spun clockwise and dropped inside the lower cutting into the fibre glass,I don't know if the top mount bolts have sheared due to the cover moving or the bolts have sheared letting the cover move.I had thought of putting some kind of inner lip like the standard XR2 drop on cowl or brackets as you have suggested, then some extra catches as per Cooke's suggestion.I'm determined it won't come off this season.Cheers Nic
