Wanted old Johnson V8 gearbox

Not sure if it exists but mate of mine wants either the left hand gears or a complete left hand box 1.73:1 ratio from a V8 Johnnyrude,
Does anyone know if these gears will fit in a 250HO lightening box???? or if a V8 box will fit onto the leg of a 250HO????

The only person I can think of that may know is a guy in the states called gordon from monty racing. The other thing I heard is they didn't use left handed boxes, they run the motors the opposite way. Reverse starter motors. But i'm not sure on this. But try monty. Or s and f.

I've got an unused Johnson V6 200hp complete lower unit if it's any use but it's right hand. Got it as a spare many years ago and it's been under my bench ever since. I understood the V6 and V8 use the same lower unit and the V8's ate them. That could be bollix though.

Thats why they reversed the motors as the left handed gears could not handle it. But again I stand to be corrected.
