Wanted pick up and dump

Does anyone have a combined pick up and dump for a bow tank please?

Cash waiting for a new or very good condition one!

Thanks!

Still wanted - just to make it clear it has to let the water out as well as in whilst going along!

i have one of the cast stainless Salmon ones, complete with dedicated control unit.

They're not cheap though.

Unless it's a direct copy, I dont see a problem with using the same technique. Who knows, we may make a better product. That's how things evolve! There's no point being snobby.

With the greatest respect, that's a tad unlikely.

That implies that my engineering skills are good enough to make a direct copy!!

Actually it doesn't. I've absolutely no idea what your skills are, nor am I interested. But as the Salmon pickups are cast 316, the tooling up costs and minimum quantities are likely to 'put you off' doing a direct copy.

The 'Salmon' pickups are undoubtably a beautiful product. I was simply having a bit of light hearted banter, didn't mean to offend or upset.

On a serious note though, if anyone has a design for a pick up/dump that they need machining up give me a shout.

I'm using one of Dans stainless pick ups at the moment and although it doesn't dump it's a fantastic product for the money, I've no idea how he makes them for that. £25.00!!

yep the cost for investment casting in stainless are arm and leg even before you get the plugs made then finding castors that have furnaces that can go high enough to melt stainless .....not easy .....machining a block would be easier but as John says it wouldnt be a copy no matter how good your maching was .......only largish quantities would make it worthwhile.....I looked at various investment castings for my woodwork planes ......what a shock i got ...

Agreed, that's for nothing!

The Salmon pickup & control (control is detented specific to valve) is about 500 quid as a set. The difference is, when closed, it holds totaly (watertight seal using 'o' rings and Nylatron piston) The design was done for the RNLI as they leave their Atlantic 75's with the ballast tank full, ready for quick launch, so a dribbly valve aint an option.
