Anyone know where I can get a stainless prop nut, preferably in the UK ?

Why? Im sure you can get one from a nut and bolt supplier but I dont see the need!

My guess is they are not SS for a reason.
A stainless nut on a stainless prop shaft would become stuck and very hard to remove. The nut is in a 'softer' material and doesn't need to be tightened hard... More importantly : this means you are far more likely to damage the nut which can be easily replaced, in stead of the prop shaft threading....

IMCO stearing ram nut wanted
OK my fault, haven't quite explained the whole story.
When I got the IMCO steering rams, one of the stainless nuts was missing. As it happens it was exactly the same thread as my bronze prop nut so fitted it temporary to the ram.
Rather than try to find a IMCO steering ram nut I thought it might be easier just to find a stainless prop nut. But now you have pointed it out, there is probably a very good reason why they don't make stainless prop nuts.
So has anyone got a spare IMCO steering ram nylock nut they want to sell

Ah, ok so. Nut is a 3/4" 16 Id say any nut and bolt place should be able to get it.

It would appear that 16 TPI is UNF.
So, all I need to find now is a 3/4 UNF stainless nylock nut.
