My memories of Zingaros were that they were a big boat, powered by a pair of smallblocks. I think they did 3 models, one of them being a flybridge, one a sedan and then a sportscruiser. That one on e bay looks smaller, possibly a ZS or something like that.

Looks like it may have a Rover V8 in it.

Just did a search on google for "Fletcher Zingaro" and there's quite a few for sale, although there is some doubt on the length, as they are advertised from 26-30 foot. Interesting, as they all come from the same hull mould.

Don't know but my Rover V8's have used aluminium alloy inlet manifolds. The one in the pic appears to be rusty.

A pal of mine had a Chevvy in a Range Rover. It wasn't unlike that one in the boat. Just guessing.

Agreed, don't think it's Rover, and dizzy is at front end, so probably ford 307 or 351ci (5 litre, or 5.7 litre) with SU conversion....nice!

Merc did a range based on ford in the late 70's 190hp and 228hp I think, as did Volvo (190hp-231hp)

I would say 2k is a bit steep, it'l be an early (and rather nasty) mercruiser drive, and endless work. all IMHO of course.
